July 1: Carlos Calito – Through The Lens Location: Victory House, Club 300 Room at the Epicenter, 3215 Coffey Lane, Santa Rosa Date & Time: Tuesday, July 1, 2025 @ 7:30 PM (Social hour at 6:30) Through The Lens – of Carlos Calito is a visual journey into the heart of California climbing, highlighting Carlos’ work documenting the scene across Sonoma County and iconic destinations like Yosemite and Bishop. In this presentation, Carlos will share his professional experiences in climbing photography and filmmaking—featuring collaborations with established brands like Sterling Ropes and rising names like ZigZag Climbing. We’ll explore how media can elevate underrepresented crags and bring new energy to re-emerging local areas. Through immersive visuals and behind-the-scenes insight, this talk will also open the floor for the audience to connect, share ideas, and spark future creative and climbing projects together.

October General Meeting – Cancelled

The October general meeting on October 5 has been cancelled. Unfortunately, we are getting off to a rough re-start after not holding meetings for over a year and a half because of Covid-19. Last month we had to cancel at the last minute when we found out that Round Table Pizza was not open for indoor dining. Additional changes and scheduling issues have also arisen in the last couple of weeks and we feel it is best to just cancel the October general meeting. But, hold tight. We do plan to hold a November general meeting and will have some exciting news to share very soon. Stay tuned and thank you for your understanding.

Henry Crigler – Hiking The Deepest River Valley

Location: Round Table Pizza, 2065 Occidental Road, Santa Rosa Time & Date: Tuesday, May 1, 2018 @ 7:30 PM (Social hour and free beer for members at 6:30) Directions: From Highway 101 at Santa Rosa go west on Highway 12 to Stony Point Road Exit. Go straight from the middle lane at the light onto Occidental Road. The Round Table Pizza is on the right just down the road. After graduating from North Carolina State in 1968, Henry Crigler found his services in great demand by the Army. At the time, Henry didn’t have an interest in long walks in the jungle, so instead he went on a cruise. A really long cruise to the Tonkin Gulf. In the ship’s library, he found a number of mountaineering books including Annapurna, The White Spider, and The Ascent of Everest. His interest kindled, Henry determined to travel to Nepal to see the highest mountains for himself. In January 1972, his commitment to the Navy over and done, he took an overseas release from duty.
