Climbing and Camping Trip to Bass Lake, Oakhurst, CA – November 5-7, 2021
We have booked a group campsite at Bass Lake near Oakhurst, CA for Friday night through Sunday, November 5 – 8 with the option to add a third night on Sunday. Bass Lake provides lots of recreation opportunities including camping, boating, paddleboarding, hiking, mountain biking and, of course rock climbing. There are many crags within an hour of Bass Lake including Fresno Dome, Shuteye Ridge and Tollhouse and Yosemite Valley is only an hour and a half away. A November camping and climbing trip presents some weather challenges, but we are overdue for a successful trip without rain, fire or a pandemic. If you are interested in attending, please email Darren at [email protected] to secure your spot. We have availability for 30 people.
Rock Ice & Mountain Club: July 3 – Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Campout

We are not going to have the general meeting at the Round Table Pizza in Santa Rosa. In an effort to provide more outdoor opportunities and because the July general meeting falls on the day before the Fourth of July, we decided to reserve the group camp site at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and have an opportunity for our members and non-members to enjoy time together hanging out, hiking, biking, having a potluck dinner, camping, and wait for it…………………BOULDERING. Yes, many know that there is bouldering at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, but many have never been or hear that it is all choss. Well I’m here to tell you that is not the case. There has been a lot of development of boulder problems the last 5 or more years and there is some choss, but also lots of fun, challenging and good boulder problems. Many are unknown classics. So bring your shoes, chalkbag and bouldering pad for a Tuesday afternoon/evening session and a Wednesday morning session. Tour guides, Darren Wiemeyer and Chris Summit, will be there to … READ MORE
Climbing and Camping Trip – Tuolumne Meadows – July 13-14 & 20-21, 2012
Come on up to Tuolumne Meadows for camping, hiking and climbing. We have reserved two consecutive weekends so there is no reason you can’t make one of them. For July 13-14, we have reserved a single site so it will fill up fast. We can try to get additional site if we get a big turnout. For July 20-21, we have a group campsite and hope to fill it up. Be ready for any and all weather conditions and bring bug spray. For more information, contact Andrew Mowery at [email protected].
